Yo! I'm Joshua Schoemberger, although most people call me Berger. Choose any between the two. I was born in Florida and lived there for the majority of my life, but arrived in the Great White North (Canada) in August 2019 and have spent some of the best years of my life here in Toronto.
I first picked up video games with Wii Sports. Ever since then I've been fascinated by the effect that games can leave on its players. I started doing game design a few months before starting Sheridan College in September 2021, but I never really knew why I wanted to be a designer. Through my 4 years in Sheridan since then, and the goals I've pursued in design alongside my friends and I, I know why I design. I design to master.
Game Design and Development is an impossible endeavor where every game made is a miracle. The practices and collaboration necessary to make a game is unbelievable, yet real. I want to master the art of Game Design. To understand how design interacts within itself, with the team and with the players. I want to explore the boundaries of design and push said boundaries to reach understandings never explored. To show designs never before seen and create new games and genres that players will explore, to create practices that will be evolved further within the industry, challenging and growing my understanding of game development evermore.
I'm also into collecting Gundam Model Kits and figures when I can, even though I've only ever watched Gundam 00. I love to watch all forms of animation and I'm interested in Muay Thai. That's the Berger flow.
